SETTIMANA COPPI & BARTALI: LUCA WACKERMANN 10TH IN SOGLIANO SUL RUBICONE

Team Vini Zabù - KTM achieves a top 10 on the demanding finish of Sogliano sul Rubicone with Luca Wackermann that in the final kms has tried to anticipate the peloton ending in 10th place the 2nd stage won by Andrea Bagioli. The team directed by Francesco Frassi and Luca Scinto had Umberto Marengo in the five riders breakaway together with Jon Irisarri, Jesus Ezquerra, Antonio Di Sante and Maurice Ballerstedt. The peloton didn't let them go and on the difficult circuit, with the final 500 cobbled metres, the escapees were caught. In the final lap Jefferson Cepeda and Luca Wackermann both tried to attack but on the last km their ambitions ended. Bagioli won the stage and he's now the new GC leader with Giovanni Visconti who made a good come back to end in 14th place and now he's our top placed rider in the GC where he stands in 24th place 1'23" behind the Deceuninck - Quick Step rider. Tomorrow stage 3 with start and finish in Riccione with the mythical ascencion to Cippo di Carpegna, the climb of Marco Pantani
