TROFEO LAIGUEGLIA: LORENZO ROTA 5TH IN THE ITALIAN DEBUT

A top 5 at the end of a great team performance of the riders of the team Vini Zabù - KTM with six men in the top 24 of the Trofeo Laigueglia.

The team directed by Luca Scinto has worked well in a race that has accelerated on the first of the four laps of the final circuit with the climbs of Colla Micheri and Capo Mele.

On the second lap was launched the decisive attack of Diego Rosa, Marco Tizza, Biniyam Ghirmay and Giulio Ciccone who opemed a gap of 30" that was decisive for the final result.

Our team took the lead in the peloton with Lorenzo Rota who counterattacked on the third climb of Colla Micheri together with Evgeny Shalunov, Davide Gabburo and Andrea Vendrame but the quartet couldn't bridge on the head of the race.

While Ciccone was going for a solo win, at the sprint Rota was 5th with Giovanni Visconti who was the fastest rider of his group in 11th place and then Edoardo Zardini, Marco Frapporti, Andrea Garosio and Matteo Busato in this order from the 21st to the 24th place.

The bergamasco rider was satisfied after the finish line "We raced well, we've been together all day. I missed something when Ciccone attacked but I'm very happy as this was my debut. I worked well during the winter and I'm convinced that if the team will carry on like this the results will arrive soon. I want to thank my team mates for their work".

The next races for the team Vini Zabù - KTM will be the Tour of Antalya and the UAE Tour
