Luca Wackermann is back in yellow at the Tour du Limousin thanks to a very brave performance that has let him ending in 11th place the 3rd stage won by Jasper Philipsen.
The milanese rider was on the spotlight in the final kms of a stage that till 15 kms to go had in the lead four riders, Fernandez, Salmon, Van Poppel and Ruiz, who reached a maximum gap of 6'30" with 90 kms to go.
On the last KOM of the day, with 12 kms to go and the GC leader Joel Suter in difficulty, Wackermann attacked together with other big names but his move was stopped by a very selected peloton of 30 riders.
Plenty of attacks in the last part of the stage but the group was packed till the approach of the last km, slighlty uphill.
Philipsen made a huge effort at the sprint and he was able to win in front of the young Stewart that now sits 5" behind Wackermann in the GC with tomorrow's stage from Lac de Saint Pardoux to Limoges that will reveal the winner of the 2020 edition of the Tour du Limousin
