Giovanni Visconti was 5th in Livron-sur-Drôme

The result has been strenghten up by the great team performance with the four riders of Neri Sottoli - Selle Italia - KTM in the top 30 and an impressive demonstration of unity around the captain.

After the hard work of Francesco Manuel Bongiorno and Umberto Marengo, both in action in the first part of the race to don't let the breakaway take too much gap, it was time for Sebastian Schonberger, Simone Velasco and Edoardo Zardini to enter in action in the last third of the race with the bad luck that stopped Davide Gabburo who crashed on the downhill of Cote des Roberts.

On the last climb, the steep Mur de Allex, Edoardo Zardini was well placed stopping the attacks of Bardet and Calmejane and then pushing hard together with Simone Velasco in the following kms.

The decisive action started with 4kms to go under the effort of Sebastian Schonberger that produced a 12 riders cut including Giovanni Visconti. The austrian rider pushed till the bottom of the last climb of the day, the Cote du Haut Livron where Alexis Vuillermoz showed all his strenght to go for a solo win.

Visconti, in 5th, was winning the sprint of his small bunch with Sebastian Schonberger and Simone Velasco in 19th and 20th and Edoardo Zardini in 27th to secure another great team performance.

Next race will be on saturday the Strade Bianche, our first World Tour race of the season

Giovanni Visconti: "Lovely race and great team, now we are getting used to be all in front in the final part of the race and this is very good especially as we are not 100% yet. I'm happy because this is an important result, I suffered in the first races and to be there today is a very good sign. I feel like the form is coming and this is the right moment as next week our favourite races are coming"

Luca Scinto: "It was a weekend of very hard races, the behaviour of the team is great and it's such a pleasure to see my riders in front in the decisive moments. Visconti is getting better day by day, Velasco is showing that the win in Laigueglia it wasn't fluke and Zardini is coming back on his top level. We have an amazing group, all the riders are following me and it's nice to work like this. Now some important races are coming, we will have to face them with the same grit"
