TOUR DE LANGKAWI: TOP 10 FOR LORENZO FORTUNATO IN THE QUEEN STAGE

Lorenzo Fortunato was 8th in the queen stage of the Tour de Langkawi with the terrible climb of Genting Higlands.

The bolognese rider was protagonist of an impressive climb together with Manuel Bongiorno, who ended in 11th place, while Kevin Rivera achieved the win.

The turning point of the stage was the final climb with the russian Ovechkin who attacked from the bottom before getting caught with 2 kms to go by Rivera and Danilo Celano.

The rider from Costa Rica was able to win with Celano who became leader of the general classification with 30" on the former Yellow Jersey Fedorov who ended his stage just behind Fortunato.

"I worked well during the last winter and I can spot the results. I'm happy of my performance because, after losing ground at the half of the climb, I didn't give up and in the final kms I realized a good come back. With four stages to go my goal is to catch up some places in the general classification but it won't be easy because all the stages are mostly flat but we will try to invent something".

In the general classification both Fortunato and Bongiorno are now in the top 10.

Tomorrow 5th stage interely flat to Ipoh, a great chance for the sprinters
