TRE VALLI VARESINE: A STRONG EFFORT AND A GREAT SECOND PLACE FOR GIOVANNI VISCONTI

Giovanni Visconti wears a smile that could be even wider after ending at the 2nd place the Tre Valli Varesine achieving a new prestigious result for the team Neri Sottoli - Selle Italia - KTM.

The team directed by Luca Scinto and Luca Amoriello keeps on gaining ground in the Ciclismo Cup where we now sit 9 points behind the team Androni Giocattoli - Sidermec with two races left.

Today's race was of a very high level and our team was protagonist in the breakaway of seven riders with Umberto Marengo.

The peloton has never left more than 3' to the breakaway and in the second circuit in Varese Luis Leon Sanchez has attacked from a bunch of favourites, that were lately left behind by a technical issue, before getting caught with less than 2 kms to go.

In that moment Roglic, the winner of saturday's Giro dell'Emilia, counterattacked and his action was strong enough to keep behind the chasers group with Visconti that won the sprint for the 2nd place. The siciliano rider could celebrate on the podium the win in the Trittico Lombardo.

"I'm 36 years old and I still start every race to win it - says Visconti - and I think that for what we are doing we deserve to win the Ciclismo Cup. I am back on a top level despite the crash of july and I still can't believe it. I want to dedicate this important result to my cousin, who died six years ago on this day, and to the family of Giovanni Iannelli"

Tomorrow another prestigious race, the Milano - Torino
