ARDECHE FAUN CLASSIC: LORENZO ROTA ENDED IN 6TH PLACE UNDER THE RAIN

Lorenzo Rota achieves his 3rd top 10 in two weeks time ending in 6th place a very complicated edition of the Ardeche Faun Classic.

On a hard route that was even more selective due to the rainy conditions, the bergamasco rider was protagonist of a huge come back that has made him overtake in the final kms some big names like Vincenzo Nibali and Roman Kreuziger.

The pace was very high from the beginning of the race and there were some crashes like the one that has involved Luca Wackermann. Five riders attacked after 20 kms, they were Cavagna, Irizar, King, Lafay and Siskevicius.

With 50 kms to go Cavagna went solo while the chase wasn't well organized with some small groups of riders who weren't able to cut the 5' gap that the french rider had with 35 kms to go.

The team Vini Zabù - KTM had Rota and Zardini in the main bunch and Rota accelerated in the final kms and on the climb of Val d'Enfer dropped the other members of his group ending in 6th place
