GP Industria & Artigianato at Larciano: Giovanni Visconti 6°

The pace was very high from the start with many attempts of a lot of riders, including our Francesco Manuel Bongiorno, that were trying to escape from the peloton. Together with Marengo, Bongiorno was a very helpful rider when the race got into the main moment with the four laps with the climb of San Baronto.

In the penultimate lap Marengo was involved in a crash at the bottom of the steep climb of Fornello and, few kms later, Gabburo was able to join an attack with Cattaneo, Prades, Zurlo and Mori and on the following downhill they were reached by Benedetti, Rojas, Hagen and Visconti.

The situation looked very promising but in the breakaway there wasn't enough cooperation, with Gabburo making the most of the job, and so the first part of the peloton bridged on the leaders on the last ascension to Fornello.

In that point the decisive move was made by Schachmann and Cattaneo with Dayer Quintana that has tried to reach them when it was too late.

Schachmann won the sprint on Cattaneo with Vendrame as the fastest rider among the chasers. Visconti was 6th, his second best result in this season, and Velasco was 12th.

In three days we will be racing again in Italy the Tirreno - Adriatico

Giovanni Visconti: "A great step forward from yesterday, in the final kms I was cold and this damaged me but the result was good. I wanted to win for all the fans who were amazing today but I'm sure that they aren't disappointed by the performance of the whole team that did again a superb job. I'm still chasing the ideal condition but I'm sure that with all the races that I will do in the following weeks it will arrive and we will achieve some great results"
