TOUR DE HONGRIE: MARENGO AND VISCONTI SPRINTED IN THE TOP 10 OF THE 1ST STAGE

After yesterday's prologue, the Tour de Hongrie continued with the 1st stage of 194 kms from Velence to Esztergom with the double climb of Dobokogo and a difficult finish with the final 1300 metres all uphill.

The team Neri Sottoli - Selle Italia - KTM made a good exhibition on a favourable ground taking the control of the stage and without leaving space to the three escapees, Bozic, Lovassy and Rozsa.

The black and yellow train controlled the situation on the last KOM of the day, setting a very fast pace with all the riders and reducing the peloton to only 30 units. The only attack was from the serbian Rajovic on the downhill but he was caught with 5 kms to go.

A crash with 500 metres to go made lose some important metres to Marengo and Visconti, our two riders chosen for the sprint, that tried to come back but they couldn't catch up the winner, Manuel Belletti.

Marengo, who did a very good prologue yesterday, ended in 5th place with Visconti in 9th in the reduced peloton where we had also Zardini and Velasco.

Tomorrow stage 2 with some climbs on the road to Miskolc but the pretenders to the stage win should be the same riders that we've seen in front of the race today
