TOUR DU LIMOUSIN: LUCA WACKERMANN HAS WON THE FINAL CLASSIFICATION

The team Vini Zabù - KTM can celebrate the win in the final classification of the Tour du Limousin thanks to Luca Wackermann who was able to defend from the attacks to his yellow jersey.

The most dangerous rivals have tried to gain seconds along the day with the british Jake Stewart who arrived 2" behind the milanese rider after getting the 3" bonification sprint at the beginning of the stage.

The most serious attack was launched with 9 kms to go by the former World Champion Rui Costa who tried together with Alessandro Fedeli. The duo arrived to the finish in Limoges with 5" on the Yellow Jersey group, not enough to rip it from Luca Wackermann who could defend his leadership bringing home a win in a stage race that our sports group didn't get since 2018.

The prestigious result, together with the amazing win in the first stage, is the best motivation for the next races beginning from sunday's National Championships

Luca Wackermann
"It's an amazing win, almost unbelievable. It was a hard day, with the bad weather that doesn't suit me and after a serie of difficult stages. I was able to defend myself from the attacks and the wait at the finish was emotional. Two years ago I won a stage and I was 4th in the general classification so I promised myself that I was coming back here to do better. I succeeded in it and I want to thank the team Vini Zabù - KTM for their support".

Luca Amoriello
"Wackermann has been the strongest rider of the week, the team has worked for him since day one despite some riders not in an excellent condition. Today Gonzalez and Stacchiotti did a great job till the last lap. In the final we suffered a lot, the attack of Rui Costa was dangerous but luckily the other teams worked to keep the gap under control. It's a great win, we need to be conscious of this"
